The mediation process enables you to discuss all issues arising from your separation, but you do so away from court and lawyers. Any outcome can be approved by the Family Court (if that is necessary).

We offer family mediation services in Cambridge, Norwich and Newmarket.

We are experts in Family Mediation and  we have decades of experience in family law. We understand how the Family Court works. When we support you as a Mediator, we are not permitted to give legal advice. However, because we are lawyer mediators we can provide you with lots of practical and legal information. This is the best framework to help you make informed choices about your future. As a lawyer mediator we add significant value to your mediation process. You can discuss and agree your future arrangements in the knowledge that as well as considering your own hopes and objectives, legal issues have also been explored, considered and acted upon.

In Mediation you will  consult with your own lawyers when there is a need for legal input.

We will also signpost you to various other professionals when that may be desirable or necessary.

How much does it cost?

Mediation is likely to be more cost-effective than negotiating through lawyers and/or going to Court. In terms of the ‘hidden’ value, mediation is also likely to be far more beneficial to you long term, especially if you are parents to children.

Mediation costs are far less than the combined rate of two lawyers acting for each party and yet the outcome achieved is likely you be the same if not better. You will have discussed and made your own decisions together, and you will do so in a cost effective and constructive way.

Mediation at FM Family Law is charged per client on a fixed cost per session, which is usually 90 minutes. This means you know exactly how long the meeting is going to take and how much it will cost. The cost also includes our preparation for the meeting and an outcome summary for each meeting.

Please contact your local office for more details of costs for all our mediation services.

We are also able to offer Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAM) at a fixed charge.
